Acer palmatum 'Benichidori' is a relatively rare Japanese maple cultivar prized for its vivid spring foliage and suitability for bonsai.

• New leaves emerge bright red to pink in spring, then turn green in summer.
• Autumn colour returns to red tones.

• Best in partial sun or morning sun with protection from harsh afternoon heat.
  
• Prefers moist, well-drained soil.
• In the UK climate, it generally does well outdoors with some shelter from strong wind and late frosts.
